| CEO's MESSAGE |
|
It is indeed a great honor for me to have been chosen to lead one of the largest educational networks of Pakistan’s private sector. This position brings along an incredible responsibility as well as an enormous challenge. The responsibility stems from the 17 year of hard work. The challenge emerges from the status-quo that demands change as a constant. I am excited to work with an energetic and forward-looking workforce that is committed to serving the organization's stakeholders at the highest level. I anticipate an enthusiastic revival of understanding, compassion, care and kindheartedness from our partners. Imparting education cannot be taken as a fleeting project. Education happens to be a lifelong investment, they all know better. I wholeheartedly acknowledge and admire the contributions of our predecessors, partners, individual donors and volunteers for collectively creating a success story. The core team at the headquarters, the regional team, the head teachers, the entire teaching staff, students and their parents, families and communities as well as the support staff all deserve my sincere gratitude for their trust, loyalty and commitment to the organizational growth and stability. READ Foundation presents a unique educational model. It has demonstrated the potential to transform itself into a completely self-sustainable model. The organization is on its course to align all its operations with its vision, mission, objectives and core values. READ Foundation does not represent a tiny seedling anymore. It has turned into a full-blown tree with a lot of fruit and a steady expanse of its branches. My job is to ensure producing more fruits and preserving them. Trimming and pruning are part of the package for protecting fruits and maintaining their taste. Covering the bare roots with topsoil comes along as a continuous errand. Seasonal tasks include watering it when it faces the blazing sun and spraying insecticides when bugs attack it. The longevity and the life of the tree are the essentials from which all other jobs originate. We all are there as a team to safeguard the tree. I am not the only one. As we are moving towards the end of the second decade of this educational endeavor, we face many challenges - and each of them provides opportunities to innovate, develop and excel. Many of the relationships this organization has are very long standing and none is more important than the relationship we share with our partners. In recent years, READ had experienced tremendous growth opportunities, yet we remained steadfast on our commitment towards consolidation, processes and standardization. READ’s idea of a quality education is based on the concept that the quality must not necessarily be linked with a high price, which only a limited class can afford. We are not just another NGO that establishes schools. READ is a vision that creates new possibilities. Our goal is not to become the biggest or the largest. Our goal is to become the most sustainable, quality-oriented, value-based and affordable educational program designed and run by a not-for-profit civil society organization. I thank you for your support. We look forward to you accompanying us as we continue on this extremely exciting journey. |
