Starting with a one-class, one-teacher school comprised of 25 students in 1994, Read Foundation, currently, runs a network of 330 institutions of which 142 are of Primary level, 137 Elementary level, 46 High schools and 5 Intermediate colleges. Until today, Read Foundation has been able to house 42 of its schools into their own purpose-built buildings, while 26 others are under construction.

Read Foundation imparts education to the poor and destitute children, especially to orphans. According to this plan, major educational needs such as books, stationery, school bags, uniform, shoes, etc. are met by the Foundation. At the outset, the number of such children was 374, which currently has climbed to over 8,000 under this project.
